Reporting Line – Directors and Shareholders

We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of
Club Quantum and Café Quantum.

General Manager responsibilities include formulating the overall strategy, managing

• Oversee day-to-day operations.
• Design strategy and set goals for growth.
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses.
• Set policies and processes.
• Ensure all the team have a comprehensive knowledge of activity within the
  club on any given day and week, including member events, private events
  and other business activities.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of the rules of membership and ensure
  that any breaches are dealt with directly or escalated to either the
  membership team or the Club Management team as appropriate.
• Handle complaints and specific member and train team how to do so.
• Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.
• Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.
• Direct the employee assessment process.
• Prepare regular reports for Shareholders and Directors.
• Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations.
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of
  business to competitors).

• Champion Service Excellence throughout the Club, overseeing service
  training and leading by example to set the tone of service. Service training to
  include upselling techniques.
• Act as a role model to all team members, supporting, motivating and
  encouraging good staff relations by promoting a positive culture throughout
  the department and by fostering a strong team ethic through formal and
  informal channels of communication.

• Responsible for meeting compliance with all operational legislation
  including licensing, health and safety, food standards agency, fire safety,
  etc.
• Effective management of and liaison with all external contractors and
  suppliers of Club Quantum.
• Ensure that all standards for people, service, quality, cleanliness and
  ambience are met.
• Ensure the team are up to date with mandatory training, food safety,
  allergens, fire safety and H&S.
• Developing passion for quality and excellence across the board.
• Setting team targets and driving continuous improvement.
• Conduct weekly team meetings to review events, initiatives, operations
  and all other business needs.
• In conjunction with HR, follow best practise in relation to the recruitment
  and selection process, ensure all new staff receive full inductions and
  training. Conduct annual appraisals, probation reviews and regular 121s
  with direct reports.
• Mentor and develop your team, act as a role model, be supportive,
  motivating and encouraging.
• Maintain staffing by overseeing recruitment, selection, on-boarding and
  employee retention by ensuring protocols are followed.
• Responsible for managing building maintenance (cleaning, repairs, etc).

• 5+ years of hospitality management experience, ideally with Private
  Members Club, or boutique hotel background.
• Demonstrable experience in managing a team.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of forecasts and P&L.
• Regulatory, safety and compliance.
• Understanding of rewarding & motivating techniques and best practices.
• Event logistics experience.
